Part-Time Private Chef / Seattle, WA

Private Chef needed for family based in Seattle, WA (Madrona neighborhood), approx 3 days per week for dinner and prepped school lunches. 1-2 adults, one 4 year old, a 12 year old and two 16 year olds with slightly varying dietary requirements. Full service on site expected for plated dinner service. Minimum two years experience working as a Private Chef. Must be versatile in various cuisines, adaptable to individual needs with a flexible weekday schedule.

Days: 3 days per week every second week.
Typically between Mondays and Thursdays or Sundays. Schedule to be set bi-weekly.

Times: Approx. 2pm – 7:00pm.
Dinner served between 6pm and 6:30pm. Lunches to be prepared within that window.

Rate: Based on experience and skill.
Client would prefer flat monthly rate and is open to rotating two chefs.

Format: Plated, open to some family style.

Dietary Restrictions & Preferences: One pescatarian.
Favorite cuisines include Mexican & Chinese. A list of individual dietary preferences will be sent to successful candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, manage, and execute all aspects of food cost, budgeting, sourcing and menu development.
  • Create weekly lunch and dinner menus for family to approve.
  • Produce and maintain the highest food quality and operating procedures.
  • Assure the highest health, hygiene, sanitation, safety, and food storage standards.
  • Shop, order, and acquire food, supplies, and any necessary equipment for the kitchen upon client’s approval.
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, accept direction & deliver the highest standards to meet the client’s mealtime needs.
  • Ability to move about the workplace efficiently with care and consideration to noise and spatial awareness. Responsible for all shopping, restocking, and inventory management.
  • Maintain and monitor all kitchen wares and equipment.
  • Has a diverse experience with a variety of cuisines.
  • A passion to produce consistently the highest level of personal professional service. Genuine communication style that is respectful, effective and sincere.
  • Takes ownership, shows commitment, is responsible and can provide solutions. Reliable, on time and able to meet deadlines.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 + years Chef experience
  • Culinary Degree optimal
  • Food ServSafe certification
  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record
